Barracuda Beach Resort Shoreline Protection

Rehabilitation and rectification of the 650 m beachfront at Umm Al Quwain Beach Resort.

HTC delivered the shoreline protection works for Barracuda Beach Resort in Umm Al Quwain as an EPC project. The scope covered the rehabilitation and rectification of the resort's 650 m beachfront, restoring the shoreline and protecting it against ongoing erosion. Works were sequenced to limit disruption to the resort and to the surrounding coastal environment.

As the EPC contractor, HTC was responsible for the design of the protection measures as well as their construction. The works were planned in stages along the beachfront, so that parts of the beach remained available to guests and the resort could continue to operate throughout.

Project Goals

The aim of the project was to restore a stable, attractive beachfront and protect the resort's shoreline against further erosion.

  • Rehabilitate and rectify the full 650 m beachfront.
  • Protect the shoreline against ongoing erosion.
  • Keep the resort open and accessible during construction.
  • Minimise the impact on the surrounding coastal environment.

The completed works have given the resort a protected and restored shoreline, improving both the security of the coastline and the experience of its guests.
