Dredging

Dredging works at Ali & Sons Jetty; dredging area 80 m x 125 m to a depth of 4.7 m.

HTC is carrying out dredging works at the Ali & Sons jetty to deepen the berth pocket and improve safe access for vessels. The dredging area measures approximately 80 m by 125 m, and material is being removed to a design depth of 4.7 m below the reference level.

The works are carried out with HTC's own floating plant, supported by pre-dredge and progress bathymetric surveys that confirm depths and volumes as the campaign advances. Dredging is sequenced around jetty operations so that the facility remains available to vessels wherever possible.

Project Goals

The aim of the project is to provide a safe, reliable berth for the vessels that use the jetty, with a consistent design depth across the whole dredging area and minimal impact on ongoing operations and the surrounding marine environment.

  • Achieve a uniform design depth of 4.7 m across the 80 m x 125 m area.
  • Keep the jetty operational throughout the dredging campaign.
  • Control turbidity and protect the surrounding marine environment.
  • Verify final depths and volumes with a post-dredge survey.

On completion, a post-dredge survey will confirm that the berth meets its design depth, and the as-built information will be handed over to the client for future maintenance planning.
