In Dadna, HTC designed and built a private yacht marina with 500 m of quay wall, retaining a height of 16.5 m. The quay wall was constructed as a gravity structure of precast mass concrete blocks with a cast-in-situ mass concrete capping beam, a robust solution for the site conditions and the large vessels the marina is designed to serve. HTC managed the full EPC scope, from design through block production, marine placement and finishing.
The precast concrete blocks were produced under controlled conditions and placed by HTC's floating plant to the required alignment and levels. With a retained height of 16.5 m, block placement was carefully sequenced and surveyed to ensure the stability of the quay wall at every stage of construction.
Project Goals
The aim of the project was to create a deep, sheltered marina with a durable quay wall able to berth large private yachts safely.
- Design and build 500 m of gravity quay wall.
- Retain a height of 16.5 m using precast mass concrete blocks.
- Complete the cast-in-situ capping beam to the design levels.
- Deliver a durable structure with minimal long-term maintenance.
The completed marina gives its owner a high-quality berthing facility, built to the standards expected for some of the largest private yachts in the world.
